GASPOLNEWS // Rabat - Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi received Tuesday in Marrakech the UN Police Adviser, Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law Faisal Shahkar.
This meeting took place at the Menara Gardens space in Marrakech, which is hosting the 93rd General Assembly of the International Organization of Criminal Police (IPCO-INTERPOL) on November 24-27, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
On this occasion, Shahkar emphasized the UN Secretary General's willingness to reinforce security cooperation and partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco's National Security services, so as to bolster and support UN Police, both at its central headquarters in New York and in the context of its peacekeeping missions in conflict zones worldwide.
The UN official also spoke of benefiting from Moroccan police's human resources in various UN missions, given their operational expertise and professionalism, as well as their language mastery, making them operational in different regions of the world.
These talks are part of the bilateral meetings held by Hammouchi with heads of delegations from countries as well as international and regional organizations participating in the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly.
The meetings strive to bolster cooperation and enshrining security partnerships between Morocco and various regional and international partners, in favor of global security and the fight against all forms of transnational crime. (PERSISMA/Red)
